What We Believe

What We Believe

We believe that the gospel of Christ is the hope of the world, and it’s the heart of the church to bring that hope to others. This belief is the foundation of our church and informs all we preach, teach, and practice.

  • We believe in One God who exists eternally in three persons: Father, Son, and Holy Spirit.
  • We believe that Jesus is the Son of God, taking on humanity to reveal God to the world. He is the Savior of this world, taking on our sins through death on a cross and resurrecting so that we might live eternally with God.
  • We believe that the Holy Spirit dwells in believers and empowers them to live Godly lives.
  • We believe the Bible to be the inspired Word of God. We believe it as our ultimate foundational authority. Every part of our doctrine, worship, and devotion as a church is built on the truth of Scripture.
  • We believe in the power of prayer and we encourage all to take their hearts to God through prayer.
  • We believe that all people are made in the likeness of God and that salvation is available to them through Jesus.
  • We believe that God has given each of us a unique set of gifts and strengths, and, because of that, there is so much we can learn from one another! We believe in the power of growing together as a faith community and supporting one another in our walks with Christ.
  • We believe that the message of Jesus Christ is meant to be shared with others. Therefore, we want to equip followers of Christ at FBCL to fulfill God’s call to help those who are far from God come near and develop a thriving relationship with Jesus Christ.
